Camp Marymount QUESTIONS?

Frequently Asked Questions

What You Need to Know

Q. May I request a friend to be in the same cabin as my child?

A. While we encourage campers to meet new people and be open to cabin placement, we understand the first time camper may be apprehensive about being “alone” in a cabin. In addition, campers who do not live in the same city may only have this time to see each other. Therefore, you may request one or two people with which to be placed in the same cabin. You are responsible for asking the requested cabinmate’s parents to request your child in return. If cabinmate requests are not reciprocated, or if more than two campers are listed, the request will be disregarded.

Q. Is it OK to bring my insurance card/ immunization record with me?

A. NO. Because the camp Health Care Personnel must sort through 600 campers’ forms each summer, insurance cards and health records must be uploaded in your camper’s registration portal a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your camp session start date. Additional questions regarding registration or documents may be directed to info@campmarymount.com.

Q. Is there a visiting day? If I can’t come then, could I stop by at another time?

A. We do not offer a visitor day during ANY of our sessions. Because of the number of campers, the busy schedule at camp, and security reasons, it is not feasible for visitors to come during the session.

Q. When do I pick up my child at the end of the session?

Pickup and the last day of the Boys’ One-Week Session is Sunday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

Campers in all other sessions are picked up between 9:30 and 11:30 am on Friday.

Please make arrangements to have your camper picked up during these times. If you have questions or need to make special arrangements, please contact the office at info@campmarymount.com prior to the closing day.

Q. Can my female camper attend the entire five weeks?

Yes! You can register your camper for both the two-week and three-week sessions. You will need to pay the non-refundable deposit for each session to hold them both. Because the five weeks is really two sessions with a break between, your camper has two options:

  • Stay at camp the Friday to Sunday between sessions and pay the Changeover Fee
  • Or, check out on Friday and check back in on Sunday for the three-week session

Q. Can my male camper attend the entire 3 weeks?

Yes! You can register your camper for both the one-week and two-week sessions. You will need to pay the non-refundable deposit for each sessions to hold them both. Because the three weeks is really two sessions with a break between, your camper has two options:

  • Stay at camp the Friday to Sunday between sessions and pay the Changeover Fee
  • Or, check out on Friday and check back in on Sunday for the three-week session

CAMPER EXPECTATIONS

As part of the Marymount community, campers can expect to live with campers close in age in our rustic, one-room cabins.  Meals are eaten family style seated by cabin in the dining hall.

Campers will:

  • Attend all meals and observe appropriate table manners
  • Help clean the dining hall after a meal on a rotating basis
  • Participate in daily cabin and camp clean-up times

Activities for Junior Camp are assigned, while Senior Campers are allowed to choose after they have participated in all activities once.  All campers and staff are expected to attend daily prayer services and Saturday Vigil or Sunday Liturgy as part of the camp program.
